Homemade Cornmeal

Homemade Cornmeal

I have always wondered how I am supposed to store cornmeal for my family. It's expensive and comes in little containers. I had no idea I could make it myself!

All you have to do is store popcorn and grind it in your wheat grinder/grain mill.

Award Winning Chili

 Award Winning Chili

Let me preface this with the fact that I NEVER win ANYTHING. Except for the Walkman I won when I graduated from high school a hundred years ago. You can imagine my surprise when I cooked up my little old chili recipe for a church chili cookoff and WON! So here you go. Hope you enjoy it too!

Cornbread

Cornbread

I am a fan of cornbread with  my chili. This is an easy pan of cornbread that fluffs up almost like cake.

Great Grandma's White Bread

Great Grandma's White Bread

Every time I make this bread I get tons of requests for the recipe. This is THE best white bread you'll ever eat ~ compliments of my great grandmother. What amazes me is that it's totally cheap, makes 5-6 loaves and only takes FIVE ingredients!

This recipe is huge so make sure you have a BIG bowl!

Skillet Tacos

Skillet Tacos

**You've got to try these before you make a judgment. We LOVE it!!**

This is great on those busy days when you don't have time to wait for dinner to bake for 30+ minutes. Just throw it in, stir, & enjoy!

Pinto Beans - Canned

Pinto Beans - Canned
Thanks to Zoanne A. for this simply delish recipe!

When we decided to try to live on our food storage for two weeks (lasted one) I realized that I didn't have very many cans of beans left on the shelf. It was time to try to can some. This recipe is awesome because you don't even have to soak your beans first. Huge time saver!

Fluffy French Toast

"Fluffy" French Toast
Thanks Grandma for this filling breakfast (or dinner!)

I normally have to use a loaf and a half of bread to feed my family french toast. This recipe is awesome! It's like wrapping each toast in a pancake and my kids can only eat two, maybe three at the most. Genius!
